About Us
Encore Catering is the revenue-generating arm of the
nonprofit Community Culinary School of Charlotte.
The school itself provides a free culinary arts training
and job assistance program for adults who have experienced barriers to
employment. Whether that barrier is lack of training, incarceration,
homelessness or substance abuse, CCSC students are eager to enter the food
service industry and change their life experience.
Encore’s mission is two-fold: first, to offer jobs and opportunities to our students and graduates; and second, to generate funds to help support the Culinary School. Most of Encore’s staff are students or graduates of the Culinary School.
Encore’s catering services include delivery and set-up, and service when needed. We currently serve nonprofit gatherings, corporate meetings and events, local schools and churches as well as private parties. Our food is beautifully presented, people love it, and the price is competitive.
Located at 2401-A Distribution Street in Charlotte’s historic South End, Encore and the Culinary School share their professional kitchen with Friendship Trays, Mecklenburg County’s primary meals on wheels program. The three programs work together to train and feed thousands of people throughout the community on a weekly basis.
Meet Chef Randy Page
Chef Randy Page is Chef and Manager of Encore Catering.
Randy is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He has over 20 years of experience as a chef and caterer.
Over the course of his career Chef Page has worked in Mobil-rated 3- and 4-star restaurants, and has instructed students at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and here at the Community Culinary School.
He has been featured in food -related television programs at local and national levels. And he has received numerous awards and accolades, including designation as Charlotte’s Best Caterer.

Meet Elise Barksdale
Catering Manager Elise Barksdale works with clients as well as staff, coordinating and planning catering events.
Elise has worked in a number of nonprofit settings, including education and the church community. She has also served on a wide variety of local community boards, equipping her with the understanding of the nonprofit mission.
