Fore!some collects charity golf tournament prize
Charlotte golfer Paul Mallon was the winner last fall of the "Four For Four" prize at the Community Culinary School of Charlotte's charity golf tournament:
The prize was a four-course dinner for four at the winner's home.
To win, Mallon got his tee shot closest to the cup on the 9th hole of the Cedarwood Country Club. He missed a hole-in-one by only 4 feet.
So School Executive Director Ron Ahlert and Instructor Biriam Thompson recently delivered the prize: A four-course dinner featuring poached chicken and concluding with a torte.
"We didn't quite finish the dessert," Mallon said, so for several days after the event "I'd cut of a small slice" and continue to enjoy it.
"Everyone had a good time," Mallon said. And all in the name of a good cause.
The 2008 tournament for the Community Culinary School of Charlotte is Oct. 13, Columbus Day.
