This cookbook has won the highest of compliments among
area cooks: They cook out of it.
Lani Lawrence writes, "Last weekend I had a plethora of bananas and an enthusiastic desire to bake. Although I had made the Inspired Cooking Banana Bread before and really liked it, I decided to try three other recipes that I’ve collected over the years. The Inspired Cooking recipe was by far the best. It is the most moist, and the recipe makes enough for two loaves, one for eating now and one for freezing."
"Inspired Cooking" was published by First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Proceeds from the sale of each cookbook are donated to area agencies fighting hunger, including the Culinary School of Charlotte.
In the Nov. 16 edition of the church's FirstNEWS newsletter, the church's Presbyterian Women organization announced that the cookbook project had raised $9,400 for the Culinary School.
The 280-page book includes more than 300 recipes, with photography by Lark Elliott and artwork by Susan Daul. The cookbook costs $29.95 if ordered online or by mail, $25 if purchased in person at the church or the Culinary School, Encore Catering or Friendship Trays. Checks should be made payable to First Presbyterian Church. The book is also available at some area bookstores listed on the inspiredcooking.org website.
