Slow-roasted lamb at the Men's Shelter

March 29, 2011
Chuck Thompson, far right, food director of the Men's Shelter of Charlotte, opened his kitchen Tuesday night to the Culinary School crew, H.C. Bell, Travis Braswell, Chelsa Howard, Mike Alston and Ron Ahlert. The School chefs joined members of Covenant Presbyterian Church to prepare and serve dinner to 340 men at the shelter. No Spam sandwiches for this crew: The menu included slow-roasted lamb, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomato sauce, rice pilaf and homemade peach cobbler.
